The Lighthouse Rescue Mission Receives Donation
At Antonelli College's Business After
Hours event in December, the students of Antonelli College, presented
a $1200 check to Kenneth Thronson with the Lighthouse Rescue Mission.
The money was a combined donation from the student organizations
at Antonelli College, to include: the American Association for Medical
Professionals, the Student Advisory Board, and the Phi Beta Lambda
Gamma Chapter.
The Lighthouse Foundation is an organization
whose ultimate goal is to eradicate youth homelessness. It provides
support to youths aged between 15 and 22 by offering a family environment
for up to six young people in available housing.
Antonelli College student organizations
joined forces to raise funds throughout the fall by holding several
fundraisers as well as having funds matched by Antonelli College
president, Mary Ann Davis.
"We raised money by holding a Halloween
carnival, a car wash, and a hot dog sale," said Reggie Taylor, Director
of Student Resources.
"The students chose to donate to the
Lighthouse foundation because they wanted to give recognition to
the services the Foundation provides for youth homelessness," stated
Lisa Baggett, faculty advisor for the American Association for Medical
Professionals.
