Antonelli College ‘A-Campaign’ Wins 2011 Telly Award
Advertising campaign selected from more than 11,000 entries as a Commercial Bronze Winner

Naperville, IL– The Antonelli College ‘A-Campaign’ was recognized as a Bronze Award Winner by the Telly Awards, a New York City based awards organization.  Plattform Advertising, the Lenexa, KS-based advertising partner of Antonelli College, developed the creative and execution for the campaign.

The A-Campaign television spots are the introductory phase of the rebranding efforts of the College which launched in January.  Other elements of the campaign included newly designed logo, website and collateral.  “We really wanted to re-launch the Antonelli College brand in a new and exciting way,” said Nicole Hoadley, Corporate Marketing Associate for Antonelli College.  “With the ‘A-Campaign,’ we wanted to communicate that attending Antonelli College is just the first step in a journey that leads to ‘A Better Tomorrow.’  It’s more than just a tagline; it’s a reality for our students, graduates, and employees.  The television spots are effectively telling our story to the community.”

Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards recognize outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs each year, as well as the best in video and film productions, and web commercials, videos and film.  This year, entries were selected from nearly 11,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents.  Judges are past Silver Telly Award winners, and include some of the top advertising and production professionals.  Past award winners include Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, Time Warner Cable, EvansHardy +Young inc., and the Miami Dolphins.

In addition to being a Bronze Winner of the Telly Award, the ‘A-Campaign’ received a 2011 Platinum Hermes Creative Award in the Advertising/Television Spot category by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals.

Antonelli College Recognizes Dean’s and Director’s Lists
37 students recognized for quarterly success

CINCINNATI – A total of 37 Antonelli College students have been named to either the Director’s or Dean’s List for academic achievement in the 2011 Winter quarter. Of the group, 14 students accumulated a perfect 4.0 GPA earning placement on the Director’s List; the remaining 23 were awarded Dean’s List accolades for their 3.6 – 3.89 GPA.

In total, seven of Antonelli College’s nine degree programs are represented and the list is comprised of just over a tenth of the total student population.

“To be named to an elite group in any undertaking is an achievement, but to place such a high emphasis on your education and work to improve your future is truly commendable,” said Executive Campus Director, Karen Gautreau.

Interior Design, the fourth largest program at Antonelli College, led the rankings with 21 percent of the students being named to either list.

“The students accept any challenge we give them and these honors are a testament to how hard they are working to build their skill set for the future,” said Deborah Norman, Interior Design department chair. Among those included in the Interior Design group was Paola Roumani, the 2011 Winter cohort Valedictorian.

Graphic Design, the second largest program at Antonelli College, was a close second with just under 20 percent of their student population being recognized.

“We have a sign hanging on our floor which states ‘Good art hangs on your mom’s fridge, great design is created at Antonelli College’ – as you can see, the students believe in this mantra and are pushing themselves to create something more,” said Melissa Ferguson, Graphic Design department chair.

Members of the Director’s List include: Matthew Baylor (Photography), Autumn Bennett (Photography), Heather Campbell (Graphic Design), Anita Colon (Hospitality Arts), Irene Hiteman-Sexton (Photography), Charles Lepak (Photography), Kristal Miller (Interior Design), Ericka Reed (Massage), Paola Roumani (Interior Design), Christopher Rumer (Photography), James Sams (Photography), Lenaya Spinelli (Interior Design), Heather Tolf-McDermott (Non-Degree Seeking) and Sasha Turner (Graphic Design).

Members of the Dean’s List include: Laura Beck (Photography), Trisha Day (Photography), Jennifer Graham (Photography), Adelia Jefferson (Massage), Sashia Jenkins (Graphic Design), Mitchell Jobe (Graphic Design), Sara Klimczewski (Photography), Amber Kolde-Johnston (Interior Design), Alysia Lang (Interior Design), Temesha Love (Medical Coding), Suzanne Norman (Interior Design), Keith Ohmer (Graphic Design), Olivia Parrish (Graphic Design), James Payton (Photography), Celicia Portwood Cole (Medical Coding), Gwyneth Ravenscraft (Graphic Design), Roberta Reid (Business Administration), Ashley Seiter (Interior Design), Jessica Sizemore (Graphic Design), Jamie Voet (Medical Coding), Marques Wilcox (Graphic Design), Kennady Wolfe (Photography) and Ashley Zych (Photography).

Antonelli College Recognizes Cohort with Degree Distinction
Roumani and Dorsey receive top honors; Sizemore named Antonelli Achievement recipient

CINCINNATI – Paola Roumani and Blaire Dorsey were rewarded with top academic honors as a total of 11 students earned their Occupational Associate of Applied Science degrees. With a final overall GPA of 3.79, Roumani was named Valedictorian while Dorsey’s 3.69 GPA gave her the Salutatorian distinction. Roumani studied Interior Design while Dorsey studied Photography.

Of the cohort, Sean Fried (Florence, Ky.) walked for his degree in Business Administration while Jessica Sizemore (Cincinnati, Ohio) acquired her degree in Graphic Design. In addition to Roumani (Cincinnati, Ohio), Raquel Diallo (Cincinnati, Ohio), Nicole Makin (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Suzanne Norman (Hamilton, Ohio) received their degree in Interior Design. The Photography graduates were Dorsey (Ft. Thomas, Ky.), Laura Beck (Cincinnati, Ohio), Alphie Hill (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Kevin Parker (Cincinnati, Ohio). Also, Lisa Martin (Wilmington, Ohio) completed her Medical Coding requirements. From the group,  Roumani graduated with magna cum laude honors; Norman, Beck and Dorsey were awarded cum laude chords.

The graduation ceremony was held on Mar. 30, at the Aronoff Center for the Arts. Alumna Deanna Evans served as the keynote speaker. Evans is a 1990 Antonelli College graduate and the owner of Fresh Event wedding planning services.

“The path I am travelling was ultimately jumpstarted by the education I received at Antonelli College. I hope to motivate and inspire the students to set a creative path for their own future accomplishments,” said Evans.

Prior to the ceremony, the cohort was recognized at a luncheon and awards ceremony where Roumani was the lone graduate to be named to the Director’s List (quarterly GPA of 3.9 or higher) while Sizemore, Norman and Beck were included on the Dean’s List (quarterly GPA of 3.5 or higher).  Sizemore was selected as the Achievement Award recipient.

Antonelli College Joins National Technical Honors Society and Phi Beta Lambda
Organizations to benefit student engagement

CINCINNATI – Antonelli College is proud to announce the addition of the National Technical Honors Society (NTHS) and Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) to the list of student focused organizations on campus.

“I am pleased to offer students the chance to expand their horizons through involvement with the National Technical Honors Society and Phi Beta Lambda,” said Executive Campus Director Karen Gautreau. “Both organizations are synonymous with excellence in the education process and beyond into professional industries.”

The National Technical Honors Society recognizes student achievement in career and technical education. Charters are granted to high schools and two-year colleges offering career and technical programs. Antonelli College is one of 119 educational institutions in Ohio with a charter and one of nine in the Queen City.

Students working toward their Associate of Applied Business in Information Technology with a 3.0 GPA and above will be eligible for membership. As a member of the National Technical Honors Society, students will have access to more than $90,000 in scholarships and potential to compete for awards via the Silver Star of Excellence program and Hall of Fame distinction.

“Membership in the NTHS is a perfect reason for students to excel in the classroom. While the member title is something they can boast about professionally for years, the scholarship opportunities offer immediate rewards,” said Lee Foley, Information Technology department chair and NTHS advisor.

Phi Beta Lambda, the post-secondary division of Future Business Leaders of America, reaches over 11,000 college students. Upon their graduation, alumni have the opportunity to continue their commitment to the organization’s mission through the Professional Division.

“Many of our students have entrepreneurial aspirations after graduation; the great thing about PBL is it is offered to all programs, not just those studying business,” noted Christa Eldridge, Hospitality Arts department chair and PBL advisor. “In offering our entire population the chance to participate, those in any program can refine their business and networking skills.”

Antonelli College also inducts academically advanced students into the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honors Society once a year; quarterly students can earn placement on the Dean’s or Director’s List.
