Antonelli College Now Provides Blended Format Option for All Programs.

Posted on

Available at all ground campus locations, Antonelli College is now offering a blended format for all programs offered. This blended format option allows the ultimate flexibility for students to take some of their program classes online and some at campus.

Antonelli College rolled out this option because many students have the challenge of balancing life, work, and school; and so a solution was formed to address the balancing act. It’s the best of both worlds, as blended courses offer better scheduling options with less time away from students' busy lives while also providing the valuable hands-on experience that students will need in their chosen professions. For more information, please contact any campus location.

New Photography Diploma Program Offered

Posted on

Cincinnati Photography DiplomaAntonelli College Cincinnati campus now offers a shorter term Photography diploma program, which will provide students with the technical instruction required to enter a professional photography career.

Antonelli College is now offering a Diploma option to their Photography program at their downtown Cincinnati campus, located at 124 East 7th Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. They are now accepting applications for the Photography diploma program.  “We are now enrolling students for the diploma track which begins on January 5, 2015,” said Edward Rito, Campus President for Cincinnati Ohio campus of Antonelli College.

Antonelli College's Photography program currently offers an Associates Degree in Applied Business, which is designed to be completed within 19-24 months. The shorter-term diploma program will allow students to complete their photography courses in as little as 10 months. The main difference between the degree and diploma curriculum is that students enrolled in the diploma program will take minimal general education courses with a strong emphasis placed on the core photography courses.

The Photography diploma program prepares students for entry-level careers in commercial advertising photography, corporate photography, portrait and wedding photography, and as digital photography technicians. This program is a foundation of the Photography A.A.B. degree program. Students completing the diploma program will be able to apply all of the diploma program’s courses towards the degree program. The program also incorporates a capstone requirement of a Portfolio Presentation course, which will provide students with an opportunity to compile a comprehensive portfolio of their work, which demonstrates student proficiency in photography to future employers.

Photography Department Chair of Antonelli College, Andrea Millette professes, "It is an exciting new option at the Cincinnati campus of Antonelli College to be able to offer the Photography diploma program. As the Department Chair, I feel the Diploma program offers a very close technical second to the Associates Degree curriculum, allowing anyone who may already hold a degree from another institution to complete the technical and creative coursework and be prepared to work as a professional photographer. The diploma offering also offers the already established photographer a set of coursework to improve upon their existing skills without the need for general education courses slowing their progress. If an individual feels they are more concerned about time, they can complete the Diploma, and choose to continue on to complete the full degree after, as all classes are 100% transferrable to the Associates degree curriculum."

Those interested in applying to Antonelli College’s Photography program should contact the College at the Cincinnati Main Campus at 513.241.4338 or request information on the website.

Cincinnati campus supports Greater Cincinnati Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease® with Memory Wall

Posted on

Cincinnati campus Walk to End Alzeimer'sAntonelli College faculty and students participated in the 2014 Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraising event in Cincinnati, Ohio. The event assisted the Alzheimer’s Association to raise funds for the advancement of research for curing Alzheimer’s disease.

Antonelli College-Cincinnati teamed up with Plaza Art Supply and the Cincinnati Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association to play a part in this year’s Greater Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease®. Antonelli was invited to create a “Memory Wall” to be set up at the main entrance of the walk to encourage those participating to leave messages, memories, drawings, paintings, or photographs to commemorate loved ones currently struggling with the disease as well as those who have passed. Cincinnatians and Kentuckians alike turned out in droves to show their support for ending this terrible disease and many left their marks on the wall to show that their memories live on.

Both Antonelli College faculty and students representing nearly all programs attended to help with the installation and execution of the event. This year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s surpassed its goal of reaching half a million dollars by raising over $518,000. The wall will be taken on tour by the Alzheimer’s Association to local nursing homes and fundraisers to collect more memories over the coming months with the hope of collecting funds for the advancement of research to finally find a cure.

The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide and 5 locations in our region, this inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions. To learn more about the Alzheimer’s Associate and how to donate please visit the Alzheimer's Association website.

Antonelli Military Friendly College Victory Media, the premier media entity for military personnel transitioning into civilian life, has named Antonelli College to the coveted Military Friendly Schools® list. The 2014 Military Friendly Schools® list honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans, and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.

“Inclusion on the 2014 list of Military Friendly Schools® shows Antonelli College’s commitment to providing a supportive environment for military students,” said Sean Collins, Vice President at Victory Media and a nine-year Navy veteran.   “The need for education is growing and our mission is to provide the military community with transparent, world-class resources to assist in their search for schools.”

The Military Friendly Schools® media and website, found at www.militaryfriendlyschools.com, feature the list, interactive tools and search functionality to help military students find the best school to suit their unique needs and preferences.  The 1,868 colleges, universities and trade schools on this year’s list exhibit leading practices in the recruitment and retention of students with military experience.  These schools have world-class programs and policies for student support on campus, academic accreditation, credit policies, flexibility and other services to those who served.

Now in its fifth year, the 2014 list of Military Friendly Schools ® was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 10,000 schools nationwide approved for VA tuition funding. The survey results that comprise the 2014 list were independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media. Each year schools taking the survey are held to a higher standard than the previous year via improved methodology, criteria, and weightings developed with the assistance of an Academic Advisory Board (AAB) consisting of educators from schools across the country.

A full story and detailed list of 2014 Military Friendly Schools® will be highlighted in the annual Guide to Military Friendly Schools ®, distributed in print and digital format to hundreds of thousands of active and former military personnel in early October.

ABOUT Victory Media Inc

Antonelli College-Cincinnati Graphic Design Dept. Teams Up with 501c3 Cincy Smiles® to Redesign Mobile Dental Office

Posted on

Cincy Smiles Mobile Dental Office
Mockup of new cincysmiles® mobile unit sleeve designed by Eric Clark, Robert Jones, Sylvia Burl, April Dunn, and Robvia Wheaton

CINCINNATI, OH – Five graphic design students from the Cincinnati branch of Antonelli College have collaborated to create a newly designed bus-sleeve to renew the face of the Cincy Smiles’ state of the art mobile dental clinic. The Corporate Brand Development course was assigned the project in early May and worked on a very tight eight-week deadline to not only reinvigorate the non-profit’s branding but also to create the ideal atmosphere for a stress-free dental visit for the children in the Cincinnati Public School system and outlying Hamilton County schools. The designers worked closely with the Cincy Smiles board of directors as well as their instructor Ben Gardner to create imagery that was both inviting to the clientele as well as specific to the city of Cincinnati. This included multiple anthropomorphized buildings iconic to the Cincinnati skyline, cartoon animals to represent the Cincinnati Zoo, and both male and female tooth fairies in dental scrubs. Special considerations were made for the interior of the mobile facilities transforming them from an ‘under the sea’ theme to a brightly colored jungle including special areas to occupy the students’ attention while awaiting their turn at the dental chair.

Cincy Smiles is currently in the process of having the sleeve printed and mounted to the mobile unit. They plan to unveil the new sleeve in September 2013 at the McMicken Health Collaborative located at 40 E. McMicken Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45202. To learn more about Cincy Smiles and how to donate please visit www.CincySmiles.org.
