Introduction
Look around your desk. What do
you see? Perhaps a book, a bag, a pen, a web site on your
computer screen. If you examine each item, chances are you
will find several things created by a graphic designer. The
book bag and pen each display company logos. The book has
several graphics or illustrations. The web site has a cool
design and animated features. The fact is, nearly everything
has a “graphic identity” now. This helps people
recognize different brands and companies.
Program Overview
The Associate of Applied Business Degree
in Graphic Design prepares students for successful careers
in advertising, marketing, promotion or printing. Graduates
may enter their career field in entry-level jobs such as computer

or cartoonist. Employers include publishing firms, advertising
agencies, marketing firms, record companies, brand identity
firms, in house advertising departments, web design firms,

fundamental design theory and practices studied through real-world
