General Admissions Requirements
The minimum requirements for acceptance to all programs are:

  • Proof of graduation from high school, its equivalent or a GED. An applicant to any program who has not yet obtained a GED or who cannot provide proof of high school graduation may obtain GED testing information from the Admissions department. The applicant is encouraged to work with the Admissions department until the GED is satisfactorily completed.

Online Admissions Requirements
During the online admissions process, you will be asked brief questions that will indicate your level of preparedness to successfully participate in an online environment. Interview questions will cover how motivated, organized and self-directed you may be and how you prefer to learn new information. Such questions will help you recognize strengths and weaknesses as you prepare for an online program.

During the admissions process, you will participate in a readiness assessment administered online. The online readiness assessment will ask basic questions about using a computer, navigating the Internet and utilizing basic Web applications. A minimum score of 75% is required to proceed with the admissions process. If you do not make the minimum score requirement on the readiness assessment, remediation will be provided in the form of hard-copy and Web-based workshops called GROE – Getting Ready for Online Education. GROE is a one-week workshop that provides tutoring in basic computer usage, Internet navigation and basic computer applications.

Once you have completed the admissions process, you will be required to participate in new student orientation. During new student orientation, you will log in and become familiarized with the Learning Management System (LMS), how to navigate the system and how to find help when you need it. The orientation will include strategies for successful completion of the program, time management skills, and how to successfully communicate online and submit assignments, as well as professional development ideas that will help the new student focus on a career upon completion of the program.
