Our Associate of Applied Science degree in Medical Coding will prepare you for a career in the ever-changing medical records profession. Our medical coding degree curriculum gives you in-depth knowledge of medical coding through intense, hands-on courses in addition to a medical coding externship. Our program trains students to work with medical records, assign appropriate codes to patient records and analyze medical databases. Our intensive medical coding training allows students to become familiar with standard medical concepts and practices outside of the Ohio and Mississippi campus’.
Graduates of our Medical Coding degree program will be prepared for employment as professional coders in hospitals, physicians’ offices, outpatient care centers, insurance firms and public health departments. As a medical coder, you play an important role in the success of a healthcare facility by working to ensure healthcare providers are paid for their services.
