Joseph R. Kimmey Jr. (2004)

I started at Antonelli College in September of 2002. I was looking for a “hands on” learning experience and was not interested in attending classes that did not pertain to my profession. The admission staff was very helpful and made sure that what I was considering was right for me. The location was also a wonderful selling point! Located in downtown Cincinnati, I was close to my home, work, and local attractions.

I am currently working for Fusion Interior Services, a division of Planes Incorporated. I am the Senior Designer and also a Project Manager/Move Manager for my company. I specialize in corporate and healthcare settings designing not only spaces but also oversee the installation and construction aspects of all projects. My primary client base consists of Cincinnati Milacron, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Lexicon Relocation, Butler County Department of Job and Family Services and Kemba Credit Union. I have also worked with Middletown Regional Hospital, Coldwell Banker, Cincinnati Machine, Federated Department Stores, and The Kroger Company.

I was honored to have graduated Magna cum laude and was chosen to speak on behalf of the Interior Design student body at the ceremony!

Sara Kinney (2004)

I entered Antonelli College in January of 2004 after receiving my BA in English from the University of Kentucky. I was in a rut in my life and felt that my career was heading in a downward spiral. I had one last shot and decided to follow my passion for photography. I looked into different schools and found that Antonelli College was not only close to home but also a close knit learning atmosphere.

After graduating from Antonelli College, I went after an internship in New York City, New York at Kate Ryan Inc.  Through her I met all of the photographers that she represents. I proceeded to send them my resume and they liked my vibe. From there, they started putting me on the set as a second and first assistant.  I entered New York City without a paying job but within two weeks of selling myself to the photographers both through phone contact and email, I was granted a shot.  With a lot of hard work on the first couple of shoots, my name was passed on to other assistants and photographers who needed help.

I am currently a freelance photography assistant for Greg Sorensen, Sarah Silver, Todd Marshard and Kate Ryan Inc. in New York City, New York. I assist on both studio shoots and location shoots for fashion photographers. This consists of building sets, camera management for the photographer, working with film and digital set ups and editing the shoot and printing. I work closely with the photographer to manage the shoot and lighting scenarios. I also work with the Art Director of the client, set designers, hair and makeup artist, models, and other assistants. I have worked on shoots such as GQ, Glamour, Cosmo, Neiman Marcus, Liz Claiborne, and various “look books” for up and coming fashion designers. My first publication in which I assisted was released in spring of 2005. I am very proud of myself for getting so far ahead in such a short period. I am working for some of the top fashion photographers in the world. Soon I will be asked to travel with these photographers and others to different cities and countries for various shoots.

I want to thank my teachers for telling me I could make it in New York City, they were the ultimate push that made me go, and now look at me!

Business Programs___________________________________________________________

Victoria Lynn Charles King (2002)

I entered Antonelli College in September of 2000. I chose Antonelli because it is located downtown and offered an Associate Degree in my area of interest. I am currently employed part time at Cinergy / CG&E as a Customer Service / E-Representative. In my current position at Cinergy, I provide customers in three states with excellent and efficient and courteous service by navigating through all processing required for a broad scope of utility services. I also facilitate online service orders, billing inquiries and requests for assistance in help navigating online transactions for WEBA and EBILL accounts. I am also working on my first book plan. In the future, I plan to start my own business entitled Victorious Kingdom. The education I obtained at Antonelli College has been very beneficial because it has provided the business tools needed to start my business. I graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in June 1977. I was unable to attend college at that time because I married and had children. My son, Tony, graduated from Tennessee State university in June 2000. I began my college career 23 years after high school graduation in September of that same year. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA in June 2002 from Antonelli. My daughter Kaneeka, a senior at the time at Hughes High School graduated in May 2002 with a 3.74 GPA. This was a very special time for both of us because we graduated at the same time. Kaneeka now attends Ohio State University where she received a four-year academic scholarship.

Jacqueline Deanna Brewer (2006)

I entered Antonelli College in September 2004 after seeing an advertisement offering a degree in Legal Assisting. I have been interested in the legal field since I was 9 years old, so I decided to enroll. I am currently actively freelancing my skills as a Paralegal until I find something more permanent. While doing my externship at the City’s Prosecutors office, I filed capiases, queried cases in the CMS system, accompanied prosecutors to court, worked on foreclosure cases and bankruptcy cases. I am very proud of the fact that I was inducted into the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honors Society in November 2005. It was a great accomplishment for me because I worked so hard to achieve that goal. I am grateful to all the staff of Antonelli College past and present. I have enjoyed my time. Everything that I have learned here will always be with me as I continue my education and further my career in the legal field.

My motto is “whatever you do to make a living, do what you love, love what you do and you can succeed beyond your wildest dreams.”

Tabatha Moody (2004)

I enrolled the first day I visited the school because of the welcoming spirit I felt that and that was the day my life found meaning. Everyone at the school was so nice and friendly and I knew I wanted to become a part of such an amazing college. My instructors were awesome and as a student, I gave them my best. From thence forth I decided that was the right path for me.

I am currently working at the district office of H&R Block assisting the district manager. There, I prepare confidential documents, assist in meetings and aid in upcoming marketing plans. Thanks to the instructors at Antonelli College I am able to utilize all of my amazing skills.

Jeremiah 29:11, “God knows the plans he has for my life, plan to prosper and plans to give me hope.” That’s exactly what was different for after I graduated from Antonelli College. I now have hope! And along with hope came establishing dreams and gaining prosperity, which I only received be being assertive, having confidence in myself, and having the knowledge to know that anything is possible by having a little faith and perseverance.”

Scott Alexander Dearman (2005)

Before I came to Antonelli College, I stayed at home everyday, had friends over constantly, and played video games. I didn’t really have anything to do so I just hung around doing whatever I felt like. Then one day, out of the blue, a recruiter called me and told me a little about Antonelli and asked if I’d like to check it out. When I did, I was given a lot more information on the college. I liked the fact that they accepted my GED and that I didn’t need to take the ACT, and those were the main factors why I chose Antonelli College.

Like every student, I faced challenges while attending Antonelli, such as the hour-long commute to school every day, making it to class on time, and the expense of gas. Several ways I overcame these challenges were patience, a credit card, and the understanding of Karma.

I am currently working for the Pearl River County School District. I work as a computer tech for the elementary school and I manage 300 workstations and a five server network system.

Except for some overdue projects, my life simply could not be better. I have learned many good things that give me a firmer grip on life, and not just at the educational level. I finally have something worth doing day to day to keep me occupied, and the best news is that I am going to get married soon.

Medical Programs______________________________________________________

Theresa Checkley (2006)

I am extremely pleased to say that attending Antonelli College has opened many doors towards my career in the medical field. My life has constantly reflected positions in military and law enforcement settings. Upon my return from Kuwait and Iraq in 2003, I made the decision that I needed to begin a career in the medical field. While attending Antonelli College, I received an Associates of Applied Science in Health Information Technology with a concentration in medical coding.

I was given the opportunity to work my externship with the Veterans’ Administration in Jackson, Mississippi. When I fulfilled the required hours, I signed up as a volunteer in the VA’s Business Office as a Medical Records technician/Program Support Assistant. I am constantly learning everyday the skills I need to obtain in order to apply for a position in which my degree was earned. This opportunity has helped me obtain the experience most employers are looking for.

I have the confidence of knowing that Antonelli College has afforded me to skills, knowledge, and abilities to work in the medical coding field. There is no limit to the amount of education a person can posses. The doors of opportunity are there to those who are willing to create them.

Chad Anderson (2006)

After making the final decision to attend Antonelli, I did not know what to expect. I was familiar with large classes in which the professor rarely knew your name. However, after the first day in an Antonelli classroom, I knew it would be an experience I would never forget.

Now that I am engaging in the field of massage therapy, I not only take the knowledge, but also the memories of the friends, faculty and staff, and every exciting moment at Antonelli College in my heart.

Chad is currently working as a massage therapist for Serenity Spa and Nails located in Hattiesburg, MS.
